What do you need before asking about a custom home?
Share the site address, ownership or purchase stage, any survey or drawings and your main priorities. Say whether design work has begun and identify the people already involved. A concept sketch is useful, but it does not contain the same information as a coordinated set of construction drawings.
How are design choices connected to the build?
Size, shape, openings, materials and room arrangements affect the work needed on site. Keep these decisions visible instead of reviewing finishes separately from structure. Our framing service explains the role of drawings and rough openings; interior design planning connects rooms and selections.
What approvals should be checked?
The municipality determines the applicable local approval route. A site and a preferred house plan do not establish that every part of the proposal is permitted. Start with the building approval guide and the Mississauga planning resources if the property is there.
What should the construction discussion cover?
Define which design and construction responsibilities are included, which decisions remain open and what information is required next. Discuss supplied products, site access and dependencies before fixing a start expectation. Use the project brief checklist to organize those details.
| Decision | Information to review | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Concept stage | Site and functional priorities. | Identify design information still needed. |
| Drawings available | Current plans and consultant details. | Review the construction scope. |
| Approvals in progress | Application status and outstanding items. | Understand dependencies before scheduling. |
